CoR Module Two: Lead Transport Activities

About this course

This Lead Transport Activities at Council module belongs to the Central Highlands Regional Council (CHRC) Know Your Role Project under the Heavy Vehicle Safety Initiative (HVSI) program. 

The Lead Transport Activities module is designed for leadership roles at CHRC who have control and influence of others during transport activities and to ensure all parties in the chain meet the primary duty under the Heavy Vehicle National Law (HVNL).

This module has been developed for anyone in a supervisory role – Leading Hands, Supervisors, Overseers, Coordinators, Managers, General Managers, and CEOs.

Learning outcomes

After completion of this module, you should be able to: 

Understand the strategies in place at council for managing onboarding and training  
Understand resources needed and controls in place to eliminate or minimise public risk created by council’s transport activities
Understand methods for monitoring and measuring effectiveness of risk controls
Communicating and reporting to the organisation and external stakeholders   
Ensure that the business does not directly or indirectly, cause or encourage a person or party, or a driver of a heavy vehicle to speed or contravene the HVNL.
